Gunslingers Launches, Sells Through 1st Printing at Cherry Capital Comic Con!

It's official! Gunslingers, the book I've been working on with the fine folks over at Rocket Ink Studios, debuted at C4 2019 and COMPLETELY BLEW THROUGH THE FIRST PRINT RUN!!! A tremendous THANK YOU to all of you who turned out for the show and picked up a copy of the book, and to those of you that attended the Gunslingers panel at the show as well! The book has been very well received and we couldn't be happier with how the launch went.

What the What? I don't remember any promotion coming out for a new book, Rob. What gives?!?

Gunslingers is a project that I finished writing for Rocket Ink a couple of years ago. I typically don't publicly discuss work in the hopper until there is a firm release date, and some of the logistics art-wise weren't lining up as we anticipated, so this one was kind of a sleeper. A window opened up in Early 2019 to align the book release with the ENTIRE creative team's appearance at Cherry Capital Comic Con, so it was all-hands-on-deck to get this one put to bed and out the door, so to speak. Think of C4 as the kickoff party for this fun romp through the Old West.

The WHOLE creative team at C4? Who is on this book, anyway?

The gang of outlaws that make up the Gunslingers crew are as follows: myself on writing duties, Dakota Lee on sequentials, Bill Pulkovski on grey tones and cover art, and Tony Miello on letters. In addition to Dakota's art on the principal story in Gunslingers, Bill and Tony also provide an array of beautiful spot illustrations of each of the ten gunslingers featured in the book alongside short bios for each, provided by yours truly.

Dakota Lee and Bill Pulkovski absolutely KILLED it on the interior art and grey tones.

Miss out on Gunslingers at C4? Here's what the hype is all about-

The stakes are high on America's Centennial as Wyatt Earp has issued an open invitation to the bravest, most cunning, and most notorious of the Old West to join him in a once-in-a-lifetime card game in Dodge City! Gunlingers and card sharks alike are travelling from near and far to get in on the action, while tensions rise as tempers flare and trigger fingers get itchy. Sit in on the action alongside Earp, Doc Holliday, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, and more as they ante up to prove just who is the best- at cards AND on the draw! Who will walk away with the pot? Who gets to walk away, period? See what happens when 10 of the most dangerous Gunslingers in the history of the American West all join together in one room and shoot for the big win.

What's Next?

Gunslingers goes back to print for run number two- this time, with something extra-special, from what I hear. More on that later. Rocket Ink is estimating a fall release for the second printing, so if you missed out, fear not! Check back here- when I have them available, they will be up for grabs in the web store!
